How accurate are the line ratings for both reels? Wanted to know how much 40lb PowerPro I can use on both reels.

The line capacity rating honestly varies depending on the type of braid you're using. With Power Pro, which is a standard, not super thin diameter or "flat wound" 8 weave braid, you'll get close to the manufacturer's recommendation with just a pinch of backing. The VSX 200 says 500yds of 40lb braid, and for your 250 you should squeeze 650-675 yds of 40lb braid on there.

It depends on how tight you get that line on there too. Wind it with a machine and glove and you'll get the recommended amount. Wind it by hand and use less tension, you'll probably get a little (25 yards) or so less line. Using thin 8 weave braid like PP Super Slick V2 or Daiwa Samurai and you will get just a bit more than the recommended capacity.

I think I had somewhere around 600 yards of Dawia Saltiga Boat braid on a VS250
