Thought Striper Dave caught one on Marshfield beach some years ago

I believe they let him keep it.

Striper Mike, and either Scituate or Marshfield, somewhere around there - quite a catch!

Could also have been the sound of cheap rods breaking under the strain of a legal striper instead of the shorts they have been poaching

and this attitude is exactly one of the problems we face today for all fishing regulations..............NO RESPECT, for the LAW, or the RESOURCE

Take a chill pill! Save the striped bass!  Catch and release for life!  But if you land a tuna from shore then that tuna is dead anyways!

Why so many snapped rods?…  doesn’t anyone know how to set drag anymore?

One of the many things that can happen when you’re inexperienced. Or just plain clueless...

If you have a permit and vessel you should be good even if its from shore

Nope, the permit is issued to the boat, not the owner and only covers tuna caught on that particular boat.

Does a poacher by any other name still smell as bad?

This comment is a laugh because every time I go to the canal I see boats fishing as far as the cribbin. Last year saw one boat reeling in a umbrella rig right in front ACoE office window ,no enforcement on this.
