cityevader
.... Thankfully the fish was on a drying rack and the foil was to catch any drips. (forgive me if this has been covered before). Turns out salt dissolves aluminum! Last night i just-sliced the skin of some whole fish every inch or so and sprinkled kosher salt into it. Turned out to be too late in the evening to bbq it so stuck it in the fridge. Today, there's holes in the foil. The fish would have been ruined if it had been in direct contact. Seabassplug
definitely not pleasant, but harmless, tomato, high acidty food and salts do that to alumium food, if you check the reynolds brand website i think i saw the whole speech about it. Fly By Nite
Reminds me of the time i was soaking bacala in a steel bowl. Had a waited another day the fish would have burned a hole right through the steel.
