Electric cord warm????

warm/hot electrical wires means the current passing thru the wire is too much for the wire to handle.

need a thicker gauge wire or a lower current to pass

Take the back or side or whatever off and check the connection, should only be a couple screws. If it's an easy connection as Sim suggested, undo it and take it to yer hardware store and tell them what you need and what length. They will either make one up for you ( good Mom and Pop store ), or sell ya the parts.

If you take it apart, might want to check to see if the coils are clean.

 

Dirty coils will make it run harder.
