Gartside’s book is available on kindle.

Finding a paper copy is becoming challenging.

There are fish piers piers all over the harbor from hull to deer island.

I worked a fishing show with Gartside once,he gave me an auto-graphed

copy of his book,it is a wealth of fishing knowledge, but, yes,it is getting

real hard to find,as Jack passed on some years back.

The Quabbin is a long drive from where you're at. Gate 8, the gate where you can drive in doesn't have shore access anymore (at least since last year). They felled a lot of trees and just left them there. I tried scrambling over them but gave up because it looked too tick infested. When I got back to the car, sure enough, ticks.

You can try hiking about a mile and a half from some of the other access points but really, there are better places to fish, which is why I don't fish there, even though I live close by. The Quabbin is really a boat type of fishery. If you want to rent a boat then do it. Otherwise I hate it.

Something that's good to know:
The Mass saltwater fishing license entitles you to fish in CT and Rhode Island. They have a reciprocal arrangement with Ma.

Is this for real or intended to be a joke? Honestly curious. Thx.
