I do remember someone catching one in the bay a few years ago, thought it was later in the year when the water was warmer.

Last couple of years IIRC a couple have been caught every year, not necessarily in the bay, two years ago one was caught between the mainland and Block Island.

 i worked at Quaker lane B&T back in  92, had a customer bring in a Cobia ,weighed around 25 lbs , he had no idea what it was

I always love the "ID this fish" threads with the fish in the cooler.
