After getting mauled by some blues the tubing was ruined so I bought a roll to re do the hooks, I can't seem to mimic the cut on the end. How do you do it ?

I grab the tubing with a pair of sheet metal bending Vice Grips  and with a razor knife I hold it against the edge of the Vice Grip and slice the tubing .. Perfect every time...

I was trying to figure out the same thing last night.  Decided I needed a sharper blade and some sleep.  Now I know how to do it this evening.

I tried a few ways & settled on this;

Razor scraper & direct,  downward pressure... no back and forth cutting motion..

I put slight pressure on the tube to collapse it a little with the blade to get it where i want it,  you can roll the tube slightly while under pressure to get that perfectly pointed tip on the end.

after that,  just push the blade down to shear.
