This fish report blog was created as a communal gathering place to share and report weekly fishing activity that could benefit those you use the RI forum.

The purpose is to blend together all reports in a portal so they are easy to access into one file for ease of viewing.

This is the second year trying this approach. I think last year had great participation.

Now it's up to you to post your success or skunks.   Either way let us know. It all helps us to be informed.

Friday is the official start of summer. Longest day light of the year. Keep those reports coming, good or bad.

Two of the smallest stripers I've ever seen at a south facing inlet - one trip early evening on the incoming, and one on a rainy mid day on the outgoing.

Friday evening: gorilla blues & bass a hair short of legal size.

Saturday morning: beach Chunking while the girlfriend does her beach thing. Big scup around, got my limit.  Few big Northern kingfish, some big Ray's and small fluke.

Sunday morning:. Very flat water.  Nothing.

Caught a few fish on chunks in a popular area in the bay on Saturday.  One keeper at 31".   Moved South and caught a very large Sea Bass on a chunk of menhaden.  Good thing we checked the regulations and threw it back.   DEM boat was out and saw them board one boat.   Nice to see them checking.

Are folks still holding out hope that the fish are "coming"?  This has been by far my worst season of fishing, from shore strictly speaking, and have maybe caught 3 or 4 fish at or above 28' (and they were in May).  I have not caught or seen any body catch any fish over 30".  So are others seeing the same thing?  Again strictly RI and from shore (CCC doesnt count) is anyone seeing decent fishing?  Best fishing nights i have had this year have basically involved having bluefish in the mix so the action is constant.  I knew the numbers werent good and we have been seeing a downward trend over the past few years but it feels like this year has fallen off a steep cliff.

Some folks have stayed positive and say the fish are "delayed" and still coming due to the cold spring, considering we are almost in July is anyone still believing this?

Seems like staying more offshore.  MV has some decent fish as well as around the Cape.  The bay had some decent fish but nothing constant.  Water temp is still below normal...I guess there is always hope.....

Agreed. Worst spring by far. Got more fish in the winter this year than I did all spring. Tog and fluke have kept me happy at least. Best tog season for me by far.
