I am ( trying ) to build a cts vapor trail 10ft 1.5-3 oz blank I orderd. And I need help finding a good reel seat that will fit a vs 150. Are there any under size 20 that will work with the large vs foot.

Buy few and try.

I would suggest that you don't base reel seat size on blank OD at reel seat position.

Any specific reason you want to drop down from a #20?

Very skinny grips (less than 25mm OD) look cool, but are not the most comfortable to use.

I do like Fuji's VSS seats in a #17, but when used with the contoured and machined grips designed for them you end up with the same OD fore grip grip you would use with a DPS # 20 seat at about 27mm OD

DPS18: 24.2mm OD

DPS20: 26.5mm OD

DPS22: 29.5mm OD

Other manufacturers seats may be slightly different.

The Fuji dpsm 18 will work. However the fuji nps 18 will be to small.

I just got a Fuji dpsm ergo from mudhole last week and the vs150 doesn’t fit in the hood.

The molded hood must be smaller

Unless they came out with something new recently the ergonomic seat is the nps or dnps. Same as in this picture.Screenshot_20190613-131540_Chrome.jpg.834af83934a84afc23e4b30b99b5e76d.jpg

The dpsm should look like this and in my previous experience has worked fine with a vs150.

SPLINE THE ROD PROPERLY!

Measure the OD of the blank.

You need masking tape and slow drying 2 part epoxy.

Thanks for the info, I was mainly curious of any seats under 20 that would fit the 150. I plan on laying the guides out and building specificly for that reel

So I think I'm going to order Fuji standard dpsm and Fuji ergonomic dnpsm in both 18 and 20.

I am also ordering crb atrs in those sizes as well. Interested in the locking function on that one.

I might try the full length graphite arbors

BRossi you are correct, It’s a DNPS18, just got it from mudhole, vsx150 foot does not slide into the front hood at all.

What I would do. I'm also not saying that I'm right.

Call the people who make the reel seat, the people

who make the blank and the people who make the

reel. Ask them all the same question and let them

know what you're doing as who you've been talking

to. Then make an educated decision where you can

make infield adjustments to what works best for you.

A micrometer, sometimes known as a micrometer screw gauge, is a device incorporating a calibrated screw widely used for accurate measurement of components in mechanical engineering and machining as well as most mechanical trades, along with other metrological instruments such as dial, vernier, and digital calipers.
