OK, for some reason I can't delete the video, but it's from a commercial site ... not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Orcas eat dolphins.

I wonder if the false killer whale (looks like an orca, but smaller) or belugas or even pilot whales ever eat seals?

Orca do eat dolphin... and pretty much anything else they want. But, I think orca from different areas of the world have preferred food sources and hunting techniques.

If this is indeed a true loner maybe it has developed a symbiotic relationship with the dolphin to ensure it can feed effectively.

Interesting possibility.

Between posts here, I went to Wikipedia for information about false killer whales. No mention of eating seals, but they both cohabit with other dolphins and eat them. They'll also engage in heterosexual and homosexual relations with close relatives, like pilot whales and Risso's dolphins. They have been seen to attack baleen whale calves, and (once) a sperm whale. (I wonder how that turned out.)

^^^^.   I wonder if they “called”  him down here from up north?

The vast distance that whales can communicate is insane!!

Unless you squeal orca, it'd have to be another orca that called him. Are there any others in the neighborhood?

The shark deterrent system that was proposed for Chatham is a under water system that sends out orca sounds to scare off the sharks! Orcas eat GW.

I was referring to this... :howdy:

That would be a sight on the national seashore.  Tourist attraction at its finest

It's Youtube and not linking to any site. Just the channel barker in the corner. Don't think that violates Tim's rules so it should stay anyway.
