95 Mercury 125 two stroke on an Sportcraft 180 center console. I switched from a 13.25 x17p (36-38mph) three blade to a 13x17p 4 blade (32-34mph). Definitely get up quicker and lost a few mph as expected. Didn't get a chance to see max RPM. After some rocks and what not I switched back to a 13.25x19p 3 blade, now its a dog getting up and I didn't get any mphs back ( didn't want to go over 31pmh). 19 too much pitch? The 4 blade felt best and I was maxing out at about 34mph. That sound right or should I be getting more MPH with a 125 on an 18'? First boat bigger then 12' and 5hp. West marine didn't have what I wanted so an employee used the book and sold me a 14" 3 blade 17p but it was too big, end up the prop didn't fit into the gear housing so tightening castle nut would just press the prop and it wouldn't spin.

125 hp 1994-2005   4750-5250    WOT RPM    2.07

gear ratio

Those were the numbers I see on merc pages, forums and prop selector pages. This motor is one of the inline 4 "classics" that run on on 2 cyc low rpms.
