Has anyone built a tuna popping rod on one of these blanks before? Wondering some first hand experience.  I would think the action would work pretty well, soft enough tip to cast well and tons of backbone.

No first hand on the 8'ers, as I do nto Offshore fish. Teh 733 is being used by BLuerunner for jigging TUna for teh last 2 seasons.

Thanks, I’ll reach out to Mark.

MArk bought it for Blackfish, then sent me video reeling in a tuna with it. He said they used it for jigging a lot. Go to GRumpy' and check out the blanks, they have them in stock there. IF you have any questions and I can help let me know

What size tuna? The 805 could be a great blank for it, just built one for stripers and it will overhand cast 5-6oz to give you an idea of the power.
