Washing reels after every trip

A damp rag for the reels. Saltwater it's that much more important for maintenance.

You can blow out the inside and dab the bearings with oil using a cotton swab.

 

If some how you forget to wipe down your rod. You'll notice that a glass rod is

more effected by the saltwater than a graphite, pure carbon fibre or composite rod.

Saltwater fishing they get washed off after each use; piers usually have a hose, at my place I have a hose, at a hotel I use the shower.  Normal oil application every few times out.  Freshwater fishing I wash them off every few trips.  OH
