How much is too much? Day trip or over night? Are you new to the game? Meaning are you still accumulating gear? How big is your boat?

We usually do it for under $200/man. Four guys. If 5 go $140. Day

$225 for an over nighter.

You could also also try to sell some of your catch to recoup some funds. You just need to develop the right friendships.

And have the right permits.

not that i ever heard of.  trade with friends, all the time (tuna for pheasant etc) but (at least in ma) you need at least a charter/headboat hms permit and a ma sale permit (which yoou need a captain for)...etc etc etc

Where did Odessa go?

How much do you want to spend?  How much are you spending now?  What kind of boat are you using?  How many people do you take?

4 people on a normal boat can be done for under $200 per man easy.  Usually $150 a man unless it's a real fuel hog, and often less.

Then that's a big boat, and a fuel pig.

80 miles out and back, even at only 1 pathetic mile per gallon, is 160 gallons.  Throw in another 40 for trolling and the ride across the bay, you come in at an even 200, and at $3.50/gallon, that's only $700.

Throw in another $100 for a couple of flats, and with 4 people, you're looking at $200 a man plus your food, which is what, maybe $20 for a sandwich and a few drinks?
