What do April monsoons bring?

my other concern is the honking winds.  Is the a certain MPH where you don't go on the kayak?

Yup the one where my trolling speed is over 3mph and I'm not even peddling.

I subscribe to the three-weekend forecast from Dave Tolleris/Wxrisk, which is superb, a bargain at $5 a month, and which has just been updated to give more specific, detailed forecasts for everywhere between New England and the Carolinas. It's really, really good stuff, a must for any avid outdoorsman.

DT has been warning of the dreaded Greenland Block for a few weeks, and it looks like it's finally going to happen this week. That means cooler than normal temperatures, and above-normal precipitation, into May.

Which sucks. There's nothing any of us can do about it, but it sucks.

It's been windy as hell and often not good wind direction.

Wind is rarely in a good direction, even when it's right behind you. Seems that way.

I'm ok with a bit of rain, but the wind has to die down.  I'm off Friday and pretty free for Saturday, and of course, it's gonna be windy as hell.
