Nothing worse than smackin yourself in the face with the rod. 

Then again what dont kill ya makes u stronger. You haven't t lived till u break off a fish and dent your noodle.

I see.

I guess since I mainly use swimmers 99% of the time it's that way for me,rolling it home slow/steady I like getting a full swing on them when they hit,then I try to stand them on their nose.

when I am doing rubber I do give it a very slight to the side thing.

even though my rod is straight at the plug my swing is toward either shoulder depending on what hand crank the reel is.

oh yeah,I saw a guy with a dent in his grape,it was from swinging on a hit with a red 4/0 penn,the reel gave him a nice trophy.

Friggin a nothing like an early morning full swing and miss convench directly in the face. 

Talk about an eye opener.

Even worse when it's your buddy smashing your face open on a huge fail. 

Been there done that.
