Good man Well like I said I dumped on the rocks four inch or so broke off tip but the red blank was noticeably badly scraped and gouged . Called and embarrassingly told dude my story and we had a good laugh and then if I remember correct it was like 100$ for the new rod and it showed in few days time which was huge cause we were in middle of prime time here
RegDunlop
St. Croix is a great company, been using them since I bought a Doerr Surf rod 20 plus years ago, at a tackle shop that has since gone out of business.... if we're looking for a shark we're not gonna find him on the land
z-man
Has anyone noticed a difference in quality depending on which country their St Croix is made? I have a China Triumph and 3 Mexican Mojos and have had no issues with any. The triumph had a guide crunched in a car door and I got a replacement top section for around $

Recoil Rob
I like their products but...I tried to use the warranty once and they turned me away. A 7' one piece spinning rod had a guide insert pop out after 3 years. I called them up and asked them to send me a guide, I told them I'd wrap it myself. They told me no, I had to send it in or back to the seller (TD). Really? Would have cost about 50% of the price of a new rod, I just bought the guide. Not a big deal but I was surprised at their reluctance to help me out. My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.- Errol Flynn

I just get it replaced at a local shop. Edited April 12, 2019 by Pma531

If you are inexperience you can damage the blank and that’s what they want to avoid. Replacing a guide costs about $15 at a local shop so why you are even considering using their warranty. I'm way over the rating just tossing a chunk and 4-5 oz. Forget the stripers. Cowz dont have the energy or muscle. Best part.. I I switch the rod early for scoolies chuck the big bass that follow the pods. Just to sweet to toss and land everything. Including artificals FedEx mishandled to rod on delivery. Cap came off was taped back on. Bill of sale gone. Got the jewelers loop out and gave the once over. Good to go. And it's still the only...well ....almost only rod I fish from the surf. My 10 and 9' ancient triumphs are still in use. Edited April 12, 2019 by the3fishheads **** the U.N.
