Searched the forums and seems like everyone is familiar with their power knobs, how about the actual reel? I just found a Okuma Cortez Czc-661-MH at local store and picked it up for no reason and now I need a reel for it. Saw that Gomexus with 1pc aluminum body, machined gears, HT100 washers and it weighs 12oz with 400yd 40lb capacity. Goes for a $120. Thats around the ballpark I wanted to spend but was looking at the shimano torium or Avet for 60-80 bucks more. Are the gomexus any good?

I bought one a long time ago for inshore bottom fishing.  Fluke, sea bass, tog, etc.  It was one of my favorite reels, unfortunately lost it overboard last fall.  Never had a single issue, although I wasn’t pushing it near the max... it has some really crazy drag if you push it up!

Edit: the one I had was the sea game 15, the heavier duty one.

Still a very small reel, comparable to an Avet sxj.
