All of a sudden about thirty showed up at the dock for a few minutes this morning. Took a pic but my cable to download is home. Will post later.

Here they are. Love to hear their call. Just sounds like fishing and summer and women wearing less clothing.

absolutely connected with the sounds of the shore.

their voices ring in my head long after they've left for the season.

and all the memories I have of the beach life with family of years gone back have the echoes of their cry in the background.

For six weeks they have been working on that corner removing truckloads of dirt. Driving in steel beams to form a large form the size of a normal lot. Now It's driving in at least fifty long pilings at least forty feet long. All of this work to support a pump they plan to make look like a tram car that we all know isn't going to do anything about the flooding at the intersection. What a waste of time and money. Six freaking weeks and nowhere close to finishing just the foundation for the pump.

In newly minted breeding plumage -- those black head feathers are brand new. By Labor Day, they will be worn and gray, which is as sure a sign of impending fall as their appearance in April is a harbinger of spring.

Good stuff, Fred. :th:

A wonderful bird screams for no good reason, steals your bait and your fillets. Ten of them surround you at the cleaning station carrying on so loud you can't hear your self think. And they'll keep you company on the boardwalk dive bombing your food.. They do have one good quality they love to drop their acidic poop on black cars. So you can profess how much you like them but I know the truth.

Knock yourself out.

Well if they lived off your fillets at the cleaning board they would have all starved to death by now.

When was the last time you were on the boardwalk?

You just turned 70 so you would actually have to shove one right in your ear to even hear it.

Now take your Viagra so you don't roll out of bed and please wake up in a better mood. :beatin:

Gee I'm sorry didn't realize you are so emotional, a couple Midol and a hot water bottle and some MORE rest and you'll feel better.
