Who wants a cold beer on a hot beach?, just another loss of priveleges. They had something like 375 alcohol related issues over the last 3 years, seems minimal to me for the amount of visitors.

On the other hand, folks do not clean up after themselves, this is what happens.

Have you ever been to the hook on a summer weekend? Many can’t swim and endanger themselves and the guards.  Add alcohol to this mix and you’ll have increased tragedy.

Not a lame rule at all.  Plenty of places to consume alcohol.  A National Park is probably not one of them.

They sell alcohol in Yellowstone. Rather hypocritical, no?

And I don't mean you, cartopper.

NY does not have exclusive rights to drunks leaving SH. Their license plates are much easier to spot then our own resident undocumented morons who blend in better with Jersey tags. We have far more in closer proximity to SH, unless you are unaware of what goes down when the sun goes down in our lovely cities!

They don't have enough people to enforce.  Drink up, you'll be fine.

The LEOs on the ride home do, and good for them. Not a fan of being run off the road by some drunk falling asleep.
