I have a tacoma with a rail and I mounted PVC tubes to a board and attached it to the rail.  Angled them back so the rods didn't stick up so high.  I throw a bungee across the reel seats to hold them in for extra piece of mind.  mine go along the sides of the bed, but found this picture of another option.  Not sure if the Ram has a rail system in the bed?

i may steal this idea

No problem. There is foam cap tape under the angle so it dosen't damage the bed rail. And it is held on with regular cap clamps.

Here is my creation. It's currently at version 3.0 I'm finally happy with it. It's removable if need be for hauling and the rod rack locks em up for a parking lot snooze or to run in for a coffee or more bunker.

Hey guys I have a ram with a  trifold hard cover. How are you transporting ur rods ? I like the 1 that mounts to a tool box but I don’t have 1

Mount it to the cab roof, can be home fabricated very inexpensively with just some basic tools and some patience.Built a 6 rod holder 20yrs ago for my SUV, been serving me just fine thru all the years and 3 different SUV,s. Bought a pickup this summer, hmmm...how to transport rods? Mounted permanent aluminum rails to the cab roof using stainless steel rivnuts and cap screws, and bolted rack to them. $50 bucks and a Saturday was all it took. Stronger than a $400 set of Thule bars and feet.
