I'm sure that wind isn't helping any. this is the one the dumb asses lit and didn't realize the winds were going to shift that afternoon...………….that guy should loose his job and his pension should help pay for it. I was a volunteer for 10 years and worked many fires with them. after we would put out most of the fire, they would take the lead, send us home , then spend the nxt 4-6 hours standing around watching a 50 x 50ft fire burn and collect the over time. but they certainly made sure there was enough smoke rising for the tower guard could see it. coolhandfluke Posted April 4, 2019 Report Share Posted April 4, 2019 (edited) oh look, 1200 acres burning at fort dix with supposedly 100 firefighters on scene. well chopper 6 was over the fire this morning and the fire line was burning very nicely low to the ground and not one truck,hose or fire fighter was to be seen. but wit until they all go cash the overtime check at the bank, they will be very visible.
