There are a number of rules, but most are taking effect in 2020.

One rule in effect is a 1 million dollar pay day for the home run derby.....OK I get it, but will they test guy for PEDs immediatly following?  Is a million bucks enough incentive for  PEDS for a few days?

I love the 3 batter minimum rule for relief pitchers...I effin hate "specialists", those guys they bring in to face one batter...and they wonder why the games take 4 hours...

3 batter minimums will hopefully put those gangly sidearm freaks out of work...I watched a Sox game fairly recently, one inning featured 5 different pitchers...that's like 30 minutes right there...

in 1980, the average time for a MLB game was 2:38 ...in 2018 it was 3:04 (probably closer to 4 hrs for Sox/Yankees games)...that's almost 30 minutes longer...the game is still only 9 innings, the extra time is spent on pitching changes, batters leaving the box, adjusting their gloves, etc...in other words, non-action...boooooring...keep the freakin game moving along please...

I think the BS with batters stepping out, calling time, etc. kills the pace of the game more than anything.

When I played travel softball, when home runs were hit, the batter just had to touch first base and then got off the field along with any runners. That would drop some MLB games 10 minutes.

Just start every batter off with a 3-2 count and that will speed up the game.

Widen the plate two inches.

I mean they are going over the top stupid with these rule changes.

The only rule change they SHOULD make is to keep the batter in the box unless there is a dead ball.

Don't let batters step out as much, enforce an unofficial pitch clock, and leave everything else alone.

The new rules suck.

Yeah, I wonder what the average number of pitcher appearing in a game is now compared to 20 years ago?

I'm with the New Jersey guy Joey Z on this one!  MLB....STOP EFFING WITH OUR GAME!

Yeah the pitchers and batters are neurotic as hell but you can't tell me sponsorship and programming isn't the root of the problem besides the nut-jobs on the mound and at the plate.

And that whole notion of making players who hit home runs just touch first like a neighborhood softball league is bogus!  Phew!!!

What's the big deal about that? It's so inconsequential, that I can't imagine why anyone would care. The no-pitch intentional walk is already in place. That could actually affect the game

I can deal with the intentional walk program but not taking away the whole idea of simply lumping in the accomplishment of parking a home run in a major league park by a major league pitcher like a freaking softball game.   If it's so easy Joe ......you do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

C'MON!
