CENTRAL ISLIP -

Prosecutors say a former NYPD officer and his wife were arrested in Merrick Tuesday night for running a drug dealing operation.

Kenneth Riggio, 59, and his wife, Faith, are accused of possessing more than 200 oxycodone pills, several bags of cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and Xanax inside their home on Meadowbrook Road.

Police say they also found nearly $150,000 in cash, scales and empty plastic bags.

Officials say the bust started as a routine probation check. Kenneth, who was with the NYPD until 1985, is on probation for DWI. Authorities say some of the drugs were spotted in plain sight.

Both suspects were in court this morning. Faith's bond was set at $50,000. Kenneth’s bond was set at $500,000.
