Echo Bravo reel

Has anyone tried the Echo Bravo reels? They have been out for over a year now and there isn't much out there about them. Looking to pick up a reel for my 9 wt salt set up and trying not to spend too much. Seems like they are Echo's answer to the Redington Behemoth, but with a sealed drag. The one year warranty is a little disappointing but I'm still new to the salt and will probably end up upgrading in a few years anyways.

I got 2 the other day an 8wt and 10wt.

I been using the echo ion reels and so far I like them and these bravos are supposed to be better. One thing I noticed is that these reels are way bigger compared to the ion models.

Top are 8wt and bottom are 10wt.

It is easy to see difference in the size, as a matter of fact the new 8 wt reel looks bigger than the old model 10 wt.

I’m curiousl Delta if you might have the reels specs on both of those reels to see if the backing and line capacity would be equal or close to that of the new 8 and the old 10.

I would never buy a reel solely based on the makers rating for a line weight without checking the specs first.

When I first saw this post I did not reply  because I do not own the reel but a new reel will always peak my curiosity and back then I did a quick search on the reel to see what it looked like and I pleased with what I saw. The reel only comes in 3 sizes and they all list for the same price, right at $140.

It seems to me especially for Stripers this reel might be a candidate to downsize the reel to get a good match for the fish and the rod.

I’ve got the 7/9 on my 7wt switch rod. It doesn’t see the salt so don’t know about durability when it comes to corrosion. Pretty sure it’s got 200yds of 20# and it’s the running line and skagit head fit great. The drag is really smooth. It’s helped me land several big bull trout in heavy water. So far I’m really happy with it.

Ended up finding a good deal on the 8/10 for my 9wt. I have some 30 lb backing so I plan on putting that on and can report back what the capacity is. Won't be getting it out in the salt until late April but have high hopes for this budget reel.
