Aerial Maps

I was looking for a particular location on Mapquest when I see the "Aerial" button. WOW...a satellite picture of any location I typed in with a zoom feature! Here I sat for hours scouting out new fishing locations. I know many were recently interested in overhead maps at fishing seminars...well here you go. Hopes this helps a few out there.

You may want to check out the USGS site for aerial photo coverage of your favorite fishing area. Try http://mapping.usgs.gov/nsdi/

then go to "GLIS photo finder". The date of the photography varies but the resolution can be pretty good, often better than the resolution from available satellite sensors. http://www.terraserver.com is another source of satellite imagery. Fishing is fun isn't it?

PS: The photos are $10 and are 9" x 9". You unfortunately can't preview them. Your local USDA office may have photos available to see and to order.
