Bass Pro Shops Helix 7 Mega SI mistake

The disclaimer you referred to, actually went out BEFORE the ad. So why would you expect them to honor the price? Not to mention the original price is far more than what is in the add.

Which makes it obvious that it's a mistake. It's still posted, because those flyers are made weeks ahead of time.

So.... you KNEW it was a mistake, but tried to force them to honor it....

Last year the same thing happened... even bigger mistake actually... there was no disclaimer that time... and they ate the loss.

You are everything that is wrong with todays consumer.  Support your local shop, get off the internet and stop being a baby about something you know is a mistake.  People like you are why Amazon is going to be the only place to buy tackle one day and soon.  Oddly enough when they get the monopoly and drive up prices, I believe you will be the one bitching about it the loudest.

So this is where you need to take your head out of your ass Ship. These are facts, learn it. You know who my nearest dealers are for fishing electronics?  West Marine, Bass Pro and Dicks Sporting goods. West Marine is always 1-2 years behind on models and Dicks Sporting Goods sucks. So it's Bass Pro. Like it not that's my "Local" source.

Bass Pro did a Nationwide promotion on the G3 at 200 bucks off retail. These are facts. "Today's" Consumer wants the deal that was advertised. Has nothing to do with monopoly's. I'm playing by the rules.

Their words was a "mistake".  Not my words. That's what they said. It is now 3/7/2018 7:34 and the circular advertising the price on the g3 is still up. I'm not the only one claiming foul here so lets get over that.

Read what you are writing. Now you know  my area? You work in a tackle shop in Jersey and you get angry about where people shop. You’re like a little Socialist Liberal.  Trying to control.

Let the legal Mexican shop where he wants.

It’s not a typo Chris. It’s a nationwide advertisement with signs when you get their advertising the G3. Lol

So let us get this straight, you hate box stores but now you defend them?  I just want to make sure I got that right.

I think you are way off here.  I would expect them to honor the price because they advertised it multiple times.  they advertised this sale in print and online and then confirmed that model was on sale for that price to me on the phone and in store.  where is the disclaimer?  it is not online and was not next to the sale sign in the store advertising that specific unit.  in fact it was no where on the sales floor.  the original price is a lot more than the sale price, which is what makes it an attractive deal.   but what you may not realize is that both the original and sale price are the prices of the G2 without mega imaging according to bass pro, which is the unit they "meant" to advertise.  Also, that sale price is less than 30% off.  that is a good deal but they frequently advertise deals as good or better than that which to me does not make it obvious that it is a mistake.  plain and simple, what they are doing is wrong and there are laws against what they have done.

it is 8:45 pm on 3/7 and the advertisement is still active online.  They still have not edited the description to match the item they are trying to push and there is no disclaimer on their website about the sale.

What about all the people who drove a long way to buy the unit as advertised only to find out that Bass Pro made a mistake and they will not honor the price as advertised. Its bait and switch and that's whats ****ed up.  The mistake is known and yet the add is still up.  What about me, i live 70+ miles from Bass Pro? Where i live there are no tackle shops near me let alone that carry the latest model fish finders so i'm stuck with Bass Pro or the internet.  Ill shop local when I can but i will not pay an extra 25% mark up just to feel better about myself.

It’s poor customer service that will cause that. Like putting out advertising luring people and refusing to honor it. And Bass Pro is a corporate operation; he’s not hassling a mom and pop shop. I personally would have just given up and moved on, but everybody is different.

I dont work in a tackle shop.  I was a buyer at a buy group store a long time ago.  As usual most of your suppositions are incorrect.  You dont know me at all.  You dont know who you are talking to or what I bring to the discussion.

Customer service has nothing to do with it.  Its cheap pricing that is getting people to buy on the internet and that is it.  I know how these ads are put together and I can tell you this was a mistake.  It was unfortunate, but you cant ask them to lose money due to it.

If all the local shops have already closed around you, you are indeed stuck and also a cautionary tale, as other shops are closing every day locally.  It sucks.  In a case where you cant find a local dealer then indeed the internet or big box is your only option.  Welcome to a glimpse of our future.

Any customer that shows up with that ad should have gotten a BPS gift card for $25 and a hearty apology.  It was a mistake.  It was not bait and switch.  And no, nobody is going to lose 25% when buying locally unless your local guy is ripping you off.  That stuff is MAP'ed the prices are the prices.  Everyone knew this was a mistake.  Heck look at the title of this thread.

If this was not a bait and switch then they need to honor it, at least in my case and im sure im not the only one.  Im sure im not the only one who was told in person that the g3 was on sale.  if this was a mistake and it was know before the ad went out as they say shouldnt the marine electronics department lead have told me on the phone before I drove out there that it was a mistake and it was really the g2 on sale?  shouldnt he have pulled the sale sign on the unit or not put it up in the first place?  shouldnt they have edited their online ad to reflect what is "really on sale"  or added a disclaimer to the ad?  I think you do not know what bait and switch it.
