Leer Cap XR Tacoma

65 posts in this topic

Got tied up but ended getting it up and running. Brutal wind and later cold.   I have a new wire with fuse at the battery running all the way down to the back.

Now I have a source direct with 14 gauge wire. I will splice off and hit the auxiliary and power the dome light without having to mess around with parking light.

Its Ts going to be nice to have a light in back for work and fishing.

All done.  Now I have straight power to the dome light.  No more leaving the parking lights on just to get power to the rear. I may do the door switch.  It’s less than 20 bucks so I will see. Easy to d.

The last add On may do is USB ports to the rear of the Tacoma bed. That way I can charge phone and blue tooth speaker without leaving the truck on.

Wow!  You move fast man! :D

Well done! :th:

One thing i need to do in my bed set up is add accessory power.

I need 12 volt power outlets & also i need to hardwire my inverter in......

probably gonna do it the way you did it, got a spool of 10 gage wire that's been sitting on a shelf at work for years,  i think i just found a use for it.

Riddler, did you add a

Quick disconnect in case you need to remove the cap?

I don't mess around. I fished down in CT the day after getting my cap installed and it was a dark night. Sucked loading.  Can't play around, fishing season is upon us.

If I had to do this again I would have bought a snake to pull the 10 gauge through the plastic wire loon. Even though it's split the 3/8" loom still sucked splitting it and putting the wire through it before hand. Wasn't easy and took time.

Every connection has a disconnect along the way.
