Cman, I picked up one of those stools that you made your stripping basket out of , it seemes small , I’ve made all my stripping baskets up to this point using plastic wash tubs , bungees , a few line seperators & I was good to go. How does the one you made work for you ? Thanks Bill J

I prefer a smaller basket while wading - less areas for fly line to get stuck. It's also a bit more ergonomic than a plastic tub with a straight edge. The slight curve makes it a little more comfortable. I used a simple $3 wash pan for many years - this one was borne not out of necessity, more like boredom during the winter months.

Fleabay has a variety of options. Here's one I used last year:

How did you cut the slots for the belt?

Utility knife for the slots, which I measured and drew with pencil.

Cman , Yes , the size of the wash tub has been somewhat problematic in the past , I’ll give the smaller basket a shot , hopefully I’ll be putting it to the test shortly . Have a safe & productive season ! Bill J
