New Slammer III 4500 Bail issue

Good evening PENN

Just bought a PENN Slammer III 4500 on Azon. It was sold by PENN.

Received it today. Unpacked it. Box is not damaged.

But here are some pics of the bail.

I tightened the drag to make sure it was set, but I can't even open the bail at some points...

Looks like the bail has been forced down...Seems pretty crooked to me...

Would like your opinion as soon as possible before returning it...

Thanx

Martin

Does Penn sell on Amazon? I’m thinking you probably bought it from a third party that has PENN as part of their name.

Could be.

I am not an expert with Azon...

I'm very disapointed though and I let them know. A replacement is already on the way.

The 4500 looks and feels awesome. I already have a 6500HS and they will complement each other very well for my needs.

Have a good day

Good evening Tony

Just received a replacement for the previous reel.

It's a 2018 reel.

It's all good but surprisingly the bail is manual trip. Seems like the automatic was never engaged.

I prefer it that way.

Does it happen often ?

Thanx

Snapper,

All Slammer III 4500 reels should have an auto trip.  Someone may have returned the reel to Amazon as "new" after removing the trip ramp and they would just put it back in stock to be resold, or it could have been missed at the factory however I find this difficult because the reels are tested prior to packing/shipping.
