john1234
My go to surface plug........it would be even better with some added weight.....don’t think they have a weight transfer and I would load with shot to add to the rattle.

John, no. Smack it work as designed. When need more distance I switch over to SS popper. john1234
night owl
I wouldn't load it. It works perfect as is. It wouldn't work right If you loaded it. If you need more distance, use another lure. john1234
Captain Ahab
I would try it. Might work even better who knows. I load the heavy SS popper and it works great. I fish fine look stupid
EricDice
You could upgrade to 4x hooks & beefier split rings which would add some weight. I also like to use a cut hook with a swivel on the front hanger of poppers. (Long story there but that’s a little more added weight.) Rainmaker
I added 3/8 oz. of bb's to help with the cast in certain places and situations. It still floats, still rattles, still killer and casts nice too. Apparently the fish didn't listen that it wouldn't be any good. Loading kinda works with SS's, Tsunami's, Redfins , the fish decided whether or not that worked too, and all kind's of lures. Each in their own way under certain conditions. The Salty Fisherman
I generally use Smack it's for more backwater applications and because of that, I find myself not having to cast very far. Instead, when I need to cast further, I simply throw on a Pencil or larger loaded popper. I would say ty it though. Never know... Maybe it will work super well, or maybe not. Sounds like it would definitely be worth a try though. john1234
