UFO Fishing Lights?

5 posts in this topic

Never heard of them. I don't see how they would be all that beneficial either, especially considering most night time predators are very sensitive to light and it may cause them to shy away.

I know some folks use fixed submersible lights them for crappie and line lining for freshwater stripers.and wipers at night with shiners.

The work great for Chesapeake bay fishing from an anchored position.

The light attracts the baitfish and the predator fish hang just below the ambient light underwater and ambush the minnows. Works well for crappie, walleye, white perch, wipers, and white bass. It is a very popular technique used in southern resevoirs at night with minnows as bait. Generally free lying the minnows with a split shop straight down with the bail open.

Saw 5 or 6 of them near each other at a lake last summer near albany ny.  Looked like a souped up honda car show at mcdonalds.........   Most were blueish,  one was changing colors.

Usually too bug bit by after dusk to fish anymore.
