Rod cleaning ...winter boredom

Happy Winter Gents,

Curious what do you guys use to clean up your rods to break the winter boredom?

Any recommended products to clean the rod up and give it that new car shine ?

Handles, guides etc.

Thanks!

What I do is rub automotive rubbing compound on the complete rod. Then wash it off in the shower. Wipe the rod down and then apply automotive wax. Rub on and rub off, all done...They look great and are protected for another season. Simultaneously you are inspecting every eye and inch of the rod for damage.

I use a trizact pad in the highest grit to polish the rods (they're designed for automotive finishes)

I scrub them with Simple Green and an old toothbrush.  Then I apply a thin coat  of Town Talk Orange Wax and buff with a soft cloth.

I noticed that in order for my rod to be at best, it needs a women's hand to give it appropriate polishing.

Filthy.....as usual

lol. I call it nanoscopic micro accumulation. They'll gathering a protected layer. I don't want to disturb the delicate process. I wash the salt off them for good, but that's about it for me.

I always wash the in the shower after I'm back from fishing. Winter they all get rubbed down and then a good coat of my best auto wax. Hyplone  and rubber tape grips I use Maguiers dash spray. Cork  grips geta scrub when I wash rods.

Thanks for all the great feedback!!!

Honestly, so bored out of my mine..I'm just looking for an excuse to touch and hold my rod.

I've disassembled and cleaned,   re-greased all my reels and they run like new.
