snapper1
Hi all For those of you who are using cut bait , like cut mackerel, to target stripers, what model and size of circle hooks are you using ? Thank you and have a great day ^..^
sytheteacher
I'm using a 7/0 bait holder circle hook manufactured by Wright & McGrill. It has two large barbs on the shank of the hook that holds the bait well. But most of the time I squeeze the barb on the point of the hook to ave a very easy release.... Stonesipher
the thing about circle hooks is to use non offset hooks. Circles that ate offset negate the effectiveness of the purpose which is to slide out and catch in the jaw. You will still end up with offset hookups on the jaw but they will be less than regular. snapper1 1 You’re not some crazy uncle you know! I'm so glad I don't live in the fact-less bizarro world you live in...just sayin'.
