LOLOL is right.  "Sand mode" is where you break out the shovel.

That is both possible and probable.... :)

I was curious what could fit in a 4Runner so I measured the wife's truck. It’s about 11’-6” from the front passenger seat floor diagonally to the hatch window. The gas mileage isn’t too great though. We average around 18 mpg.

Our 2016 Highlander Hybrid is in the auto body shop because I hit Rudolph the day after Christmas so I can't check how an 11' rod fits until next week, but it is supposed to get 27 City/28 Hwy.  Not planning to try it on sand due to all the electrical components underneath but for the parking lots, it's worth a look.

VW Passat can fit up to 11’6” rod with backseat open; only reason i buy it

Interesting, and very hard to find without a gajillion miles on it, especially in the TDI

Anyone familiar with the VW Sportwagon ? 29 mpg city 39 hwy - that's caught my interest !

SKI RACKS ON THE ROOF, why would you want to put an 11' rod in yer vehicle?

So a Century with a Zx2 reel doesn't get stolen

Your Walmart rigs are safe in the roof rack

2 custom lami GSBs with VSs locked in the racks have been fine for the last 20 years, not sure where you are, perhaps heightened security is called for.

Some guys may not want flying particles/objects damaging blanks and tips. Everything from salt, pebbles to deer...

Puckup with topper and pass through rear windows

Unfortunately, snow, rain, and bugs pass through

also.  Anything over 8 ft goes on racks on top w locks.
