.... Also Danielsson's have a finite drag range that can be adjusted. So if you want more top-end drag, even total lockdown you can adjust it by loosening the drag knob and turning it very very slightly clockwise. If you want less top-end drag loosen it and turn it very slightly anti-clockwise. The L5W and H5D's have plenty of drag to stop most things - I have just returned from Exmouth, WA and we caught plenty of tropical species that pull hard and long. I will be buying a H5D 11Fourteen for a 12wt to tackle GT's for when I go back.

Nope. Danielsson will not lock down. I have tested the drag up to 11kg (with much stiffer springs to keep the low end usable for stripping line with ease). And already much lower max setting makes the ball bearings axially overloaded: the reeling in is not smooth anymore and using that high load on the bearing will make it spall fast.
