I’m in Islamorada now for a few days. The wind has been brutal (30+mph) and supposed to stay strong all week. Going to make it tough fishing. There’s also a lot of Man O War jellyfish washing up on shore.

I saw this crazy 3 car accident today where a boats twin outboards were completely through a cars window.

Wow.

Have you tried fishing yet?

It’s been almost 35 years since my last visit. Thinking about just getting on a plane and heading down for maybe a charter and some bridge fishing. I have never done this but it looks interesting and relaxing. Kind of a spur of the moment thing for me. Thinking about chartering and lodging from bud and mary’s marina. I see they rent rods and gear also. Would love any advice, please.

I see your dates  good luck

I fished a little bit this morning at the resort. A lot of small fish kept biting the tails off of my baits, didn’t land any.

Probably cow fish or puffer fish. A good idea is to get a cheap 4 foot cast net at world wide sportsman (bass pro). Should be a lot of pilchards around right now. Live bait is king down there. Should get you some Jack's or snapper. Although fresh dead shrimp on a jig head is best if blind casting the flats. Watch though, a lot of soft mud on some flats. Anne's beach has good access to some flats. Also a big Atlantic side flat further south. You can also toss lures at night under smaller bridges for small tarpon and snook. Have fun. I miss fishing down there!
