A few years ago I pulled something in my shoulder/neck and had to lighten the plug bag load. During the fall sand eel run the amount of weight, what with all the different color and size Ava's and other tins, can get stupid.

Rigged this up, a small selection of tins with interchangeable tubes

This was the first version - it's now in a size up plano box with a few more tins and lot more tubes of different sizes and colors

Plug Storage 4.jpg

I like all the storage ideas, but the challenge with the rods and reels is that it will be very clear to the wife just how many rods and reels I have.  No good can come of such from such knowledge   :)

I use Mr. Clean magic erasers to clean cork grips. Makes them look as good as new.

They're great on cleaning plugs as well..... removes everything from stains to rust.

Old surf bag insert trick

Tape two Plano boxes together with duct tape then slice off the top and drill a small hole in the bottom of each slot for drainage

I've had this bag with these boxes since the mid 1980's, only replaced the tape once

For rods without hook hangers

Zip tie and a split ring

Don't forget to twist off tie wraps for a smooth finish as apposed to snipping it off and leaving a sharp cut.

Every leader material Spool gets a loose wrap of velcro with a hole in it....... soft side down, adjust tension  as needed for smooth line removal.

Pull off what you want,  the rest stays neatly  spooled.

Isn't it! :th:

I was thinking of this one, you could pretty much use any size plano & cut the height as you need,  even use just a single....

Looks like i found a winter project....i got just the bag i needed this idea on....

Well done sudsy!

Magic Erasers are the only thing I'll use on an antique plug

I can't take credit for this - it's what everyone did back in the green canvas bag days

Cheapest way I’ve found to hang rods. 1.5” pvc. 1/4 and 3/16 drill bits and a saw.

I love this trick!  I’m off to the Home Depot for some 1.5” pvc
