Snuck in 30 minutes after work on the way home.  Hit up pond #3, the largest of the locals, and it didnt disappoint.  3 blow ups and 1 LMB landed.   A discolored whopper plopper I found a couple yrs ago with tail hook removed.

I actually muffed a cast and looped it over an overahanging maple branch, so I did the dipsydoodle thing and it worked.  Fish bloew up on it, pulled it free, but not landed.

2 MS kids fishing across from me.  Good to see.   Nice day out.

Woke early, couldn't fall back to sleep so of to a local Long Island Pond.  Once I found them is was a lot of fun on a 6wt with a clouser. Four LMB tp 14", numerous Bluegill nothing under 7", some 9" Crappie and some very thick 12-13" Yellow Perch!  It all ended when the sun burned through the cloud cover.

Last trip targeting the Snakehead.   Managed a couple and the fillets on the smaller one are perfect.   Now change up gear and target Flounder.

Belay my last WRT "last trip targeting Snakehead".

Just ate some.  Simple light smear of olive oil with lemon pepper and baked.  Paired with Sauteed Garlic Spinach.

Won't knock Sheepshead off the top of the list but pretty darn close.  Absolutely delicious!  I'm going back for more...

Here's Part 1 of my quick trip across the border. This trip evolved pretty quickly into a catfish trip after this and stripers became a secondary player the rest of my time up.

There were some good fish caught that morning by a couple local guides after they started generating but I of course didn't have my net and didn't have time to hit the bait shop so I went at them with strictly artificial. I had a couple hits but that water was running clearer than usual and that sun was ultra bright so they weren't having it.

Results were a little better that evening and I seemed to be the only one who hooked up outta the boats down their that night.

Stripers or catfish it doesn't matter to me I lovem both!

Hope someone enjoys the video!

Went out looking for big ones tonight but found lil guys. I figured with the new moon coming, wind picking up and a front approaching I could find a big one.

Found a few willing to eat a rat and on def over achiever who absolutely hammered a 7” 6 oz asking gill bait while I aggressively walking it.

Wake bait bite in NJ is still pretty decent - managed a few fish today on a waking gill.

The best one of the day jumped overboard before I could snap the pic - 3 and 1/2 - oh well.

Very firm.  Wife said it was more like a pork chop in consistency.   The neighbor tried it and said it was similar to Lobster or Monk Fish.

Nice job on the stripers. I had to go to your channel, and check out part 2 with the catfish. That was a quality flathead. That looks like good blue cat territory too. Any of those hanging around in there?

Went back and found a couple more.   Can't wait to cook up the perfect fillets.  Yum!  May try a Mago salsa rub and bake.
