This morning, a nice river zander of about 90cm (that is about 36 inches).

Caught on a Sebile flatt shadd in a cast and drag.

Yesterday morning.

A nice river pike of 98cm (about 39 inches), damn, just two centimeters ! (Or about 1 inch, can't you use the metric system like most of the rest of the planet?)

Fished with a Rapala shadow rap on the twitch.

Had a few minutes before work and “ glided “ up this lil 2 and 1/2 on my new blue gill bait.

Casted over a submerged grass bed - he was right where I expected him to be.

No, I don't eat freshwater fish.

Most of our rivers are still very polluted, although the situation is slowly improving.

Where I fish the visibility is about 30cm (12 inches) on good days.

I much prefer sea fish.

We ran my buddy’s boat back to Rochester from Olcott yesterday. Stopped and did some fishing along the way.  Picked up some real nice steelhead and kings…caught a few small cohos a laker too.

The steelhead in the bottom pic is mid teens.  Super fun day!

Had two smaller bass at a pond last night on a white chatterbait mini. Also, I decided to treat myself to a new spinnerbait. Almost all of my spinnerbaits are inexpensive (less than $5). What's nice about this one, besides the quality & attention to detail, is there is no need for a trailer. Will see if this becomes my new favorite.

Stormy weather yesterday morning.

Quick fishing before the lightning arrived.

I test in particular a rapala X-rap prop. Cast and reel at different speeds, then twitch. No, it does not attract anyone...

I try several lures, I arrive at the end of my usual course.

The bottom of the river is at 8 meters.

I test a last lure, a rapala countdown magnum 11 marlboro.

And yes... a trolling lure is difficult to cast.

A dozen casts later and as many buckles on the two hooks...

Then!

Finally a hit!

I bring back a nice big perch of about 40 centimeters.

It is taken on the edge of the lip and is easily unhooked by itself.

Damn...
