Had an hour to kill and hit my local spot. Only 2 but the 1st LMB would have easily eaten the 2nd little guy,  31/2 to 4lbs. Saw her wake running towards my bait, stopped for 3 sec and she was on. Lots of jumping and carrying on. Felt good to finallyh get one with some heft

5-12 7:30am -10am cloudy

water temp surprising 61 degrees ,plenty of water and high level  the old fishing hole = have not been to for a while are missing a few Senko bucket  sitters = rip  a few new guys to fill in which is good . I walked the line with a spinning bait , shad Colorado blade gold produced a few LM males . By the time I reached the rock/ sand flats wind picked up and changed rods,  bait caster 50 braid 30lb floro leader 3/16oz Tung bullet weight Trokar 3/0 hook  Chigger craw green / brown produce 2 SM about the same size 2.45 2.60 on the scale . Not much greenery yet , always feel I’m being “ bird dogged “ no pics . Some people like fish out of season , I don’t go for the BS so just back in the water to make more until June when it’s legal . Been on the trout streams the last few season (fly ) but still check in here from time to time . Maybe more this season . Plenty of young turtles out moving around and Carp are playing their games , one guy was Crappie fishing and got two

Winner winner bream dinner :)

I've had a itch for some fried bream and decided to go act on that impulse. I got 11 eater sized bream yesterday. Gonna head back out today and see if I can double up on my filets. I rarely ever eat fish but when I do its bream or spotted bass and maybe an occasional flathead here and there provided they are under 10lbs.

Finally got the boat out and hit the water this am.  Beautiful day, and sure felt good to feel some tugs.

Late start this year Mack? Nice way to get the winter funk off.
