Freshwater Fishing Reports

Worked the Goldsboro/Wayne County area today, stopped by the Neuse River on my way home.  One Hickory Shad and one American Shad, both 15” caught in a span of about half an hour - they were hitting the Darts today.  The Hickory went for the Dart but got itself tangled up with the spoon!  OH

What are your plans for line for it?

What will it be dedicated for?

Gonna get some 30# Sufix 832. It’s gonna be a very versatile setup, but it will mostly be used for compact jigs. I put it on an 7’2” Expride, and it’s just a killer setup. It will see alot of time with some swimbaits too.

I already bought a 150 at the end of last year and its about to see its first action, it’s going on a Dobyns 734.

My next baitcaster will be a Curado MGL150 to replace my Curado 200e, the knobs are melting off! Curado 200K is a very nice reel I'm use mine for chatterbaits.

At launch the wind was light as was the rain.  Hour later the rain, wind and cold drove me off but not before landing a few fish.  The chain pick made a serious mess in the net and my numb fingers spent a good 10 min trying to undo it without getting bit or stabbed by the micro spinner hook.
