Caught 6 more this morning. This one is a 17" Tiger Trout. Haven't seen many of these in my area over the years. This one has very obvious markings: half brook half brown.

I usually fish the TCA or in Steve's.

If I have a full day . I fish from the saxton down to bloomsbury. its a long river so I try to pick my spots & time wisely

Love my 1000 & 2500. Plenty small & light. Couldn’t imagine needing to go down to 500.

Agreed , I have a 2500 and 3, 4000’s.      I have an older fluger on my 5ft UL  that’s roughly a 500 size.  I feel like the 1000 might be slightly too big for that rod .    Then was also thinking about getting the 1000 and a new 5’6 UL .       Probably don’t need either a rod or reel , but I have issues

Ha!  Bought a new rod & reel this past week - understand having “issues”!

Had a nice day fishing for Stripes on the Roanoke River this past Thursday with my buddy Jim.  Very slow, not many fish, no keepers.  My best fish of the day was a 13” LMB.  Jim enjoyed his cigars as much as the fishing! OH
