Freshwater Fishing Reports

Yesterday I dedicated the day to pike fishing on a local lake.  The water was pretty murky so i decided to throw a whopper plopper 130. I was rewarded with 5 epic blow ups and landed 3 pike from 20”  and the biggest being a 36”.

today I finally got one of the M.S. Slammers I’ve been patiently waiting for so decided to hit a local pond to see what would eat a 7” 2 ounce bait - only fished 40 minutes and was surprised this little baby ate it.  On the last cast I got a semi decent fish to crush the Slammer.

Hit a local pond for a few minutes and got this little guy on a Megabass Vatalion - casted near a weed bed and let it settle, gave it 2 turns of the handle and I saw him come out of the weeds and eat it.

Seeing the take is so much fun for me.

Toughed out the gusty conditions and went kayak fishing yesterday - pretty much threw the Megabass Vatalion in sunfish colors most of the day at lay downs.

Managed to get 4 decent sized fish to eat the Vatalion right at the yak and blew the hook set on everyone of them. Bass 4 - Me ZERO.

Had a pickerel charge the bait as I was lifting it out of the water - he actually ran right into the kayak head first.

only fish I landed all day - oh the irony- LOL.

I have a G2 Shell Cracker that was delivered today - hoping to be able to swim it tonight and definitely hoping for better results.

Hit the reservoir for a few hours. First outing in a bit... I caught a handfull of smallies ..... But wow what a nice time. The water was down, so some areas I like were easy to work.

I had a bunch of solid 3 lb fish on bottom jigs. They only wanted green pumpkin lizards.

I just like that type fishing with constant working and moving. These fish were all jumpers. The best is the top of cast, on the way down hook ups!

Went pike fishing today and got a chunky little LMB - he ate a whopper plopper 130 tied on a steel leader.

Saw all sorts of wild life - never saw a squirrel swim before.

Hit a local lake for some top water action on a cloudy day - MegaBass Pop Max was working pretty good. No giants but a nice day.

The one fish looked a little beat up with a sore on his lip.
