Went on a 2 day fishing binge.

Sunday fished with my buddy in the heat of the day from 8 Am to 2PM- not optimal but it’s the only time my buddy can fish. He drop shotted and limited out - I got the skunk cause I don’t enjoy drop shotting at all.

‘’Went home took a nap and went back out at 8 PM for my first time night time bassing trip.  It was definitely an eye opener.  At 10 PM the section of the lake i was fishing lit up - bass blowing up all over the place. They were blowing up right next to the Kayak - crazy fishing.  Fished til 1AM and left them biting.

Only pic i got was a little fish that i got at 8 PM.

2nd pic was from the day - most of the fish my bud got were about this size - nice and chunky.

Today tried throwing swim baits deep for bass and hooked a Muskie - got him to the side of the yak and he went wild and spit the hook - busted up my swim bait - oh well.

Definitely going to try more night time bassing - this weekend is a full moon - could be epic.

Nice evening once the sun got low enough to beat the heat.  Landed 7 bass with the top two at 1-12 and 3-2.   Plastics were the ticket and they turned their nose up for topwater.

Thanks funny thing , I let by grandson reel in the 1st catch , as he was bringing it in , next to the shore line this HUGE snapper came out of no where had hold of the Sunny and started to peel off line , scared the crap out of me , the grass was pretty high at the waters edge , bastard was as large as a garbage can cover , so I quickly helped him in with this one for a photo shot . Enough excitement for one morning

Did a mini marathon fishing session today.  Started on a reservoir about 10 AM and fished til 4 PM with a bud of mine.

‘’He brought me a new Z Man chatter bait so i decided to test cast it while he was setting up his kayak. First cast from the dock with a new bait and I hook up to a 15” LMB - I knew it was over then - the double whammy - first cast curse and on a new bait.  Neither of us touched a fish the rest of the day.  Spoke with a few other guys that were out there and nobody was catching.

Took a break and went to a tackle store to buy some stuff - my bud had to head home to the wife and kids.  I decided I was going to hit a lake closer to my house but had to wait out a pretty severe storm. Once the storm cleared  I hit the water and fished from 8 til midnight.

Landed a few decent bass but the 19” fish absolutely destroyed my Jackall Grinch bait - i tied another one on and an approximate 5# crushed it but i wasn’t able to land him - Oh well.

I think it was @KidDkivahh that  said “ you don’t know what your Missing if your not fishing at night starting June “ He’s definitely right.

@Hook 1 also recommended night bassing.

I’ll be out there for the full moon.

Went out again on the kayak last night - started to early because I was antsy and just wanted to get out there. 7 to 9 PM nothing happened but once the lights went out it was pretty good. Bass were in the grass flats blowing up all over - the night time is amazing.

On my way out from the ramp I paddled around that grass flat and there was ZERO signs of life - on my way back to the ramp that flat was lit up with fish.

I hit a local lake this morning from the boat. Crankbaits, jigs, topwater, spinnerbaits, weedless spoons through lily pads, you name it. One largemouth that was so small I didn't even know there was a fish on.  There is a much bigger lake in driving distance but it will be a madhouse over the next few days. Happy 4th all.
