The owl parade continues.

The first pic is all the ones my son has photographed this winter. A couple I shared before.

The second pic is from my daughter inlaw.

All taken in daylight in the Groton/Pepperill/Townsend area.

Between me and my boys, we've seen at least 20 barred owls in daylight this winter (some were repeats of same bird).

I even saw one catch prey in daylight.

Many similar pics show up on the bird groups.

Went out this morning to see if there were any snow fleas ( actually a tiny stonefly) around . When I ran into a few good sized Caddis( 1/2'') and some decently lg. Stoneflies ( 1/2 to 3/4'' ) . These were a surprising find considering the near freezing water temps .

Ahead of the coming thaw, I checked my favorite brook and found a washout across the gravel bar with all the buried bottles.

Soon as I walked up I saw color.

Never thought it would be whole. Didn't even get my feet wet.

Ayer's Hair Vigor out of Lowell Ma, 1914.

Ayer was a chemist, inventor and eventual millionaire who the Town of Ayer Ma was named for. He paid for the townhall.

Went back to the brook to see if I could find the stopper for the Ayer's bottle I found last week.

I spotted some blue color, miraculously retrieved it with my shovel without getting my feet wet, but alas, a boring, common marble.

Probably 100 years old but still boring, and not my stopper.

Oh well, makes a good subject for me to mess with the settings for the camera in my phone.
