Got my February fish last Friday.  Also first fish on the Czech nymph rig.

How are you liking the Czech style?

It's weird....  I am way down low on the learning curve.  Starting to get the drift down.  I am missing fish because I don't keep a tight enough line.  Looking forward to getting into a piece of water with eager fish and getting some steadier action to develop a "feel".  I got the Redington Hydrogen  10' 3 wt and bought a few flies and tied a few.

I'm interested to give it a shot this season. My nymph fishing can't get much worse, so...

I had all but given up nymphing- got tired of it and decided to commit to swinging if I was not fishing dries ( although I did go dredging now again last year).  I watched my buddy czech nymphing  last fall in MT and decided to give it a go.  Completely different from indicator nymphing....  Like I said, need to get on a good stockie pounding roll to get the feel.

I have a buddy who is really into Czech nymphing and fishes all over Idaho and Montana.

If I get over to fish with him this summer, I’ll give it a go.

He raves about the amount of bites you feel Czech nymphing versus ones you’d never detect fishing a indicator rig.

He’s got two feet of snow at his place so he is filling up his nymph boxes for this spring and summer.

I watched my buddy fish a stretch of the Gallatin that I had fished for several days in March and again in October hook fish after fish in water that I walked through.  I'm really excited to try it in medium pocket water.

I’m sorry the streak came to an end, tough pill to swallow especially, when the weather fight you every step of the way.

The consolation prize isn’t bad.

Took a long walk in deep snow today but it was worth it. Made up for a troutless February too.

Nice work.

I really like the colors of those inland bulls down there.
