Scouts in my troop all told me not to fish here because there were no fish. Told  me I was wasting my time.

Yes I gripped a sunny. It was the only way to get it up the hill without killing myself. This was cleaned and cooked for fishing merit badge.

Another great trip to Belize in the books. Had my first slam, and also this 22# Permit! All 3 of my Permit came on a CrabFly (the previous fish were all on shrimp patterns). Took the tropical lines off and hit the albies. Permit on Sunday, and Albies on Monday.

Cheers,

Mike

Yesterday  sea conditions...4ft swells made it challenging the little tunoids was also very picky they were keen on very small bait lots of spin guys tossing deadly dicks and epoxies had very little hook ups , luckily for the fly guys we had the right ingredient.

Last weekend on the West Branch for 2019.....  Tough water conditions-  The dam owner publishes a flow schedule and then decides not to follow it.  The Czech nymphing saved the day, but we did have some solid dry fly fishing as well.  The brook trout attached had my 16 hot mess caddis in his jaw from two weeks ago..

Wait a few weeks and it will be stacked with 10-15lb carp. And considering the 10-15lb brown trout at the other camp 10 minutes up the road, I believe your scouts were correct.

But that section of creek is mostly on the dead side.  It looks nice and has lots of character, but it cooks in the summer.

Please exercise your discretion. Considering you are active in scouting, and very few other people could peg that location with no state, county or town I thought it was safe to throw you a bone.  From old Eagle Scout to an adult volunteer I thought it would be a nice thank you for your service to the kids.

Thank you for the edit.

Probably the last dawn patrol for stripers for 2019...  40 degrees, coooooolllllddddd north wind.  Missed one fish at my feet; almost lost a boot in the mud...  I'll be back at it tonight.

Quck run to a creek fishing was ok, tons of small bass ofKIMG0956.jpg.277139bf0e5f7ccb1e646b6aa063efb2.jpg no size then it all fell apart when a Beaver took exception to our trespass and essentially went up and down the creek slapping his tail.  Found an interesting camp/home in the woods filing it under "weird things you find off the radar"
