Help...moving to Newport

Looks like my family and I will he moving to Newport in the summer. We’re not sure where we’d like to live yet. Were wondering what the commute is like crossing the bridge into Newport every day. We also have young children so the school systems are important. Jamestown and Narragansett are where we’d like to be, but I don’t know much about the area. We are open to other towns in the area.  We are a military family, not millionaires. What are some things to consider? Likes and dislikes?

As someone who lives in jamestown I can say I love being here and would recommend it, narragansett is nice too, but will be a longer commute into newport, especially in the summer with beach traffic.

tiverton folk are weird. they're like fall river people on a sober stretch.

Funny! There may be some inbreeding going on with the redneck folk there too.

Naval housing assistance office has a number of smaller homes they can recommend. Bristol is very nice, but$$$$$$ Middletown and Portsmouth are more in your $.
