SB59
For trout, no preference. Whatever I can get on fleabay or amazon on the cheap as long as it has a secure clasp and non slip! I refuse to spend more then 4 or 5 bucks on a fly box.
tedshuck
I have some of both types. I have found that the silicone insert boxes last longer. The silicone stuff is quite tough. However, they don't seem to hold small trout flies (size 18, 20, 22 ...) very well. The slots are sized for flies with hooks in the 8 to 14 range. I use foam insert boxes for smaller flies and the silicone ones for larger flies. Ted
